THEATRE
COMPANY

Pink Zip Theatre aim to highlight the force that is Manchester’s rapidly growing Fringe Theatre scene, with a dedication to ‘bridging the gaps between new and established creatives’. It is in those vital first steps in the industry that creating a theatre community, not just a company, is what makes Pink Zip’s Theatre stand out.

Some playwriting credits include Soothe (2019), Leeches (2022) and Last Night on Earth (2025) all of which were longlisted for the Bruntwood Prize for Playwriting, the largest playwriting prize in Europe.

Melissa champions female, queer and working-class-led narratives. She is the co-founder of Alora’s Productions, an independent film company dedicated to ambitious storytelling and opportunities for emerging and diverse creatives, and HellCat Creative Collective, a platform fostering safer, joyful spaces for women, trans, and non-binary artists to collaborate and showcase their work. TOM NYE

 Actor & Director

Tom Nye is an Actor, Musician & Director from Ely, Cambridgeshire where he grew up as a Cathedral Chorister. His formative years performing to thousands around the world with the cathedral choir developed a deep love for music, theatre, and community. Tom is a graduate from The Manchester School of Theatre where he studied BA Acting. It was during Tom’s second year at Drama School when he serendipitously founded Pink Zip Theatre with Kieran Scott. The pair met at 53Two Theatre, Manchester, and struck up a friendship and a plan to enter the fringe theatre space, not quite anticipating they would go on to sell-out, win awards, and publish Kieran’s play. Tom’s directorial style and facilitation focus with Pink Zip centres around creative collaboration.

When Tom isn’t Acting or Directing, he is a proud National Youth Theatre member and ESL Teacher. Tom hopes to bring these skills into his role as co-founder of Pink Zip Theatre with Facilitation and workshop co-ordination. As the theatre company expands its team in 2026 and opens its arms to anyone wishing to collaborate and join them and the work they do, the team look forward to what surprises, challenges and moments of brilliance await them and their community in the years ahead.
