DARE TO KNOW MENTORSHIPS

Sometimes, as a company, we meet artists along the way and there's something special about them, something that they have to offer the world creatively, that maybe they haven't had the chance to yet. We recognise that some of the biggest barriers new artists are facing today are time, energy, support, motivation, guidance and space. They're the barriers that we hope to dispel with our mentorships programme.

Low stakes, low pressure, high reward.

Meet our Mentees...

JAKE SCOTT

 Playwright

We're incredibly excited to be announcing Jake Scott as our 2026 Mentee!

We began working with Jake Scott in Summer last year, after his piece 'On Air' was supported by Crafted at Oldham Coliseum Theatre. This piece then premiered at Dare to Create: Oldham Arts Festival as his debut full length play!

We will now be working with him to mentor him through writing his second full length play, and cannot wait to see the incredible work that he creates.

Keep an eye out, this piece is going to be special.

PINK ZIP THEATRE

 Theatre Company

If one 2026 Mentee wasn’t enough… we’re also excited to announce Pink Zip Theatre as our second 2026 mentee!

You may have caught Pink Zip’s debut play ‘Leeches’ at GM Fringe in 2025, where the play won the Write For the Stage Award and Best New Writing. Since then, the Pink Zip team have been creating an identity of giving opportunities and a platform to brand new creatives.

We look forward to working with the team on the next steps of their journey, both artistically and with their community, sharing insight, knowledge and advice to make sure that Pink Zip Theatre are here to stay.

Caitlin Cribbin is an aspiring writer and actor born and raised in Oldham. She has always had an interest in theatre, and has always been that annoying theatre kid (hopefully better now!). She's looking forward to sharing her work with the public, and helping to share hers and many others experiences of a working class background.
