Post World War One, 1920's America and the prohibition is causing havoc in Chicago. Dealing with the aftermath of the war, Baby Face takes Rummy under his wing, showing him the ways of the new world. To cover their criminal exploits, Rummy opens The Rum Runners Club, a brand new speakeasy in the City. But what follows is lies, love, betrayal and war.

NELL GREENHALGH

Nell Greenhalgh is a dynamic choreographer and performance artist with a passion for creating innovative and expressive movement. Beginning her dance journey at a local dance school, she honed her skills at Renaissance Arts before securing a place at CAPA College Performance Arts. Having recently completed her training at Oldham College, Nell continues to refine her craft as part of Company Chameleon Youth.

As co-director of Fierce Dance School in Colne Valley, Nell is dedicated to inspiring the next generation of dancers, blending technical excellence with creativity. Her choreographic style draws from a diverse range of influences, fusing contemporary, commercial and theatrical elements to create engaging and impactful performances.

THE CAST

CHRIS MORGAN

'Rummy'

Chris Morgan-Shillingford is delighted to be playing Rummy in Rum Runners. They trained in musical theatre at The Hammond School and have since built a diverse career across stage, screen and digital media. Some of their theatre credits include Aladdin and Jack and the Beanstalk at York Theatre Royal, as well as The Wonderful Wizard of Oz and The Tempest with Storehouse (Chester). Alongside performing, they work as a model and content creator, sharing their passion for creativity, fashion, and storytelling across platforms. They're excited to bring a bit of mischief and charm to the role of Rummy.

'Bonnie'

FREYA PRITCHARD

A recent graduate from Performers College, Freya is very excited to take on the role of Bonnie and bring Bonnie's enthusiastic and flirtatious energy to the stage. Freya has trained in classical ballet since a young age, and had the honour of training alongside Northern Ballet in late 2023. Freya then moved to France to start her first professional contract as a Character and Parade artist at Disneyland Part. Since moving back to the UK, Freya has completed a plethora of short dance films and is excited to see where the opportunities in the UK take her next.

JOEY TAYLOR

'Baby Face'

Ex-professional ballet dancer Joey Taylor trained at Elmhurst Ballet School before graduating into Birmingham Royal Ballet in 2018. He danced there for 3 seasons in productions such as Swan Lake and The Nutcracker before deciding to go freelance and explore other avenues of dance. He held performance residencies at different venues across the UK and danced under various artists such as Black Peppa and Tom Aspaul. He now happily supports students in the Performing Arts department at Oldham College.

'Lucky'

EDWARD SHALLCROSS

Edward started his career int he industry in 2021 whilst studying dance at NSCG Newcastle College and since then he has worked in various areas of the performing world. Starting his career dancing at Alton Towers, his credits also include working for Parkdean Resorts and Charming Entertainment, with whom he toured the UK performing in adult pants, as well as featuring in a music video for the band "THEIA." The Rum Runners marks Edward's debut performance with Dare to Know Theatre, and he's very excited to bring this exciting story to life.

SOPHIE HOUGH

'Birdie'

As a child, Sophie loved to dance, starting doing competitions and going to different classes from a young age. After doing dance in school, Sophie studied dance at Oldham College for 2 years where she performed in multiple dance shows and dance tours in schools, whilst also performing as the lead role in the college musical 'Treasure Idland.' Sophie then worked with a local theatre group where they performed a range of musicals such as 'Little Shop of horrors,' 'Welcome to the West End,' Halloween horror specials and many more. Sophie then studied Musical Theatre at drama school, where she performed as Karen in 'Mean Girls: The Musical!'

'Bea'

LEAH CONNOR

Leah Connor graduated The Arden School of Theatre in 2021 with a degree in dance, she has since performed in multiple shows, building a strong foundation as a versatile dancer. After stepping into the fitness industry and currently working for Oldham Athletics, Leah is now returning to the dance industry to renew her love for performing.

GEORGINA ABBOTT

'The Gang'

MEGAN LANG

Georgina Abbott graduated from Northern School of Contemporary Dance in 2012 and has spent over a decade teaching contemporary technique and choreography at Oldham College. She has performed extensively with Manchester-based company Tangled Dance, appearing in several tours and platforms including Turn, Urban Moves, and Warrington Arts Festival. Now a proud mother of two, she is excited to return to the stage.

Megan Lang began her dance training at Oldham College, where she spent three years developing her technical and performance skills. She continued her education at the University of Salford, where she has recently completed her degree in dance. She plans to pursue a professional career in the dance industry after graduation, with aspirations to work with renowned companies and travel the world through her art.
